On the charts that summer were unforgettable power ballads by Bon Jovi, Whitesnake, and Heart; Madonna started the “Who’s That Girl” Tour; Michael Jackson released Bad, his first studio album since 1982’s Thriller; Guns N’ Roses released their debut album Appetite for Destruction which went on to become the best-selling debut album of all time; and U2 celebrated their first US hits from their fifth studio album Joshua Tree.
